Functions of the Department

The principal powers, duties and functions of the Department shall be– (a) to ensure the safety of air navigation; (b) to promote and encourage the orderly and economic development of civil aviation; (c) to ensure the observation of any regulations made under this Act; (d) to initiate and carry out surveys into any aspect (e) to advise the Minister on all matters affecting civil aviation; and (f) to perform such other functions as the Minister may from time to time impose.
