Protection of passengers

(1) Subject to sub-section (2), a person who commits an act of violence against the passengers or crew of an aircraft in flight commits an offence and shall, on summary conviction, be liable to a fine of five thousand dollars. (2) Where the act of violence referred to in sub-section (1) results in the death of a passenger or a member of the crew of an aircraft, the person shall be liable, on conviction on indictment, to imprisonment for life.
