General Manager and other staff

The Authority may appoint and employ, at such remuneration and on such terms and conditions as it thinks fit, a General Manager and such other officers, agents and servants as it thinks necessary for the proper performance of its functions, 19 provided that– (a) no salary (including the value of benefits) exceeding more than five times the average salary per employee of the Authority shall be assigned to any post without the prior approval of the responsible for Communications; (b) no provision shall be made for the payment of any pension, gratuity or other retiring benefit to any employee of the Authority or the grant of benefits to the dependants or the legal representatives of such employee without the prior approval of the Minister.
