Registration of titles and other documents

(1) The registration of ownership titles, mortgages, assignments and other documents relating to vessels which are governed by this Act shall be of the following kinds, (a) preliminary registration; and (b) 28 (2) The preliminary registration of such documents shall be valid for six calendar months and shall have the same legal effect as permanent registration, provided that permanent registration is effected within the six months’ validity period of preliminary registration failing which the preliminary registration shall lapse.
