Permitting authority

(1) The Ports Commissioner shall be responsible for– (a) the receipt, consideration and determination of applications for a permit to operate a vessel as a water taxi; and (b) the regulation of water taxi services. (2) The Board may, by administrative orders, set appropriate standards, whether generally or for any particular category of vessel, for– (a) the regulation of water taxi services; (b) the operation of water taxis; (c) the capacity of water taxis; and (d) other areas of safety and regulation of water taxi services.
