Pollution of air and water

(1) It shall be unlawful for any person to deposit, place or discharge into the territorial waters of Belize, any ballast, dunnage, sanitary sewage, butcher’s offal, garbage, dead animals, gaseous liquids or solid matter, oil, gasoline, residium of gas, calcium, carbide, trade waste, tar or refuse, or any other matter which is capable of producing floating matter or scum on the surface of the water, sediment or obstruction on the bottom of the ocean bed, or odors of gases of putrefaction. (2) All ships and all persons using port facilities shall take every precaution to avoid pollution of the air.
