Setting down and picking up passengers

The driver of a motor omnibus shall at the request of any passenger immediately stop in order to enable such passenger to board the omnibus or alight therefrom: 144 Provided that he does not thereby cause an obstruction or prevent the free flow of traffic by stopping; and provided further that on routes on highways or other public roads where stopping places are prescribed by the Department of Transport, he shall not pick up or set down passengers, or stop elsewhere than at such places, except in cases of emergency when he shall pull to the extreme right shoulder of the highway or public road, as the case may be, before stopping.
