Fixing and intensity of front lamps. Rays to be uncoloured

The obligatory front lamps shall be fixed at the front of the vehicle one on each side and at equal heights from the ground, the rays from the lamps shall be uncoloured and if the vehicle is capable of proceeding at a speed greater than 20 m.p.h., of such intensity as to illuminate the road ahead for a distance of at least 100 yd. or such greater distance as is sufficient to ensure the safety of the vehicle and the persons carried in the vehicle and to indicate clearly the presence of the vehicle to approaching traffic. The lamps shall not be fixed at a greater height than 5' from the ground.
