Persons carried on vehicle to be wholly within it

(1) No person shall travel nor shall any person in charge of a motor vehicle or trailer permit any person to travel or drive in or on a motor vehicle or trailer in such a manner that any part of the body of any such person protrudes beyond the main sides of the body of the vehicle: Provided that this paragraph shall not apply to a person travelling on a motor cycle. (2) The driver of a motor cycle and any person carried thereon shall sit astride such cycle.
