Cancellation of registration

(1) The registration of a motor vehicle shall remain valid so long as the vehicle is kept in use for the purposes for which it was originally registered and shall only be cancelled if the Department is satisfied that the vehicle has been destroyed or rendered permanently unserviceable or permanently removed Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic [CAP. 230 21 from Belize, or if it has not been re-licensed for three consecutive years. (2) The owner of any motor vehicle which has been destroyed or rendered permanently unserviceable or has been permanently removed from Belize shall notify the Department of such fact within one month of the happening of such event.
