Notice of intention to commence reconnaissance or prospecting operations, etc

(1) Subject to such exceptions as may be prescribed, the holder of a reconnaissance or an exclusive prospecting licence, before commencing prospecting operations in any private land, shall give to any owner or lawful occupier of the land notice of his intention to commence the operations, in such manner and form as may be prescribed. (2) The reference in sub-section (1), to “prospecting operations” includes a reference to reconnaissance operations, but only to the extent that the reconnaissance operations involve surface or subsurface techniques.
