Disconnections at request of customer

(1) Subject to the following provisions of this section, a (a) disconnect a service pipe which for the purposes of providing a supply of water to any premises is connected with any water main of that licensee; or (b) otherwise cut off a supply of water to any premises, if notice specifying the time after which a supply of water to those premises will no longer be required has been served on the licensee by a consumer and that time has passed. (2) No person is liable to a licensee for any expenses incurred by the licensee in exercising the power conferred on the licensee under this section.
