Investigation of Offences

(1) Offences under this Act shall be investigated by officers duly designated by the Authority (in this Part referred to as “designated officers”). National Integrated 69 (2) A designated officer shall have the power to inspect, at any reasonable time, the site or sites where an offence is suspected to have been committed, to take samples of water and effluents and to request the alleged offender to submit any relevant documents, data and information. (3) In exercising his power under sub-section (2) of this section a designated officer shall show appropriate evidence of his authority.
