Application of this Act to abstraction and use of water

Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in any enactment and or agreements, the abstraction and use of water in Belize and the construction of any works for such abstraction and use shall be governed by the provisions of this Act, and accordingly, nothing in any enactment and or agreements shall be construed as derogating from any provision made by or pursuant to this Act; Provided that this section shall not apply to the provision of a public utility service as defined in the Public Utilities Commission Act, Cap. 223.
