Cessation of B.E.B.’s functions

(1) As from such day as the Minister may by Order appoint for the purpose of this Act (in this Act, referred to as “the appointed day”) the B.E.B. shall, subject to section 4 of this Act, cease to perform the functions imposed upon it functions by Part IV of the Belize Electricity Board Act, Cap. 182, R.E. 1980- B.E.B’s (2) On the appointed day, the B.E.B. shall, subject to section 4 of this Act, cease to– (a) generate, distribute, supply and sell energy for public and private purposes; (b) promote and encourage the effective and efficient development and administration of electricity supply, having regard to the development, well-being and security of the country.
