To obtain authorization from the Board, the applicant shall satisfy the Board that he can– (a) read and understand the label of the type specified in the Registered and Restricted Pesticides (Registration) Regulation, 1995, following dosage, application and precautionary direction therein. (b) understand general principles of safe and effective pesticide use, storage and disposal; (c) safely and adequately prepare the mixture to be applied; (d) calibrate and maintain knapsack sprayer; (e) calibrate and maintain other specialized application equipment to requirements; (f) choose and use the specific (appropriate) pesticide(s) required for his business; (g) understand responsibilities towards clients, employees and the public.
