Provisional registration

(1) Where the Board is not fully satisfied that a pesticide shall be granted full registration, it may grant provisional registration for a period not exceeding one year, provided that it is satisfied that30 Pesticides Control (a) the pesticide does not pose unreasonable adverse effects to health and the environment; (b) the product is appropriately formulated for use; (c) the product is of adequate quality; (d) the product may be used safely in Belize under such conditions as the Board may specify; (e) products available in Belize under full registration above are not suitable for the purpose specified; (f) the appropriate fee has been paid. (2) In the case of provisional registration granted after an objection, the pesticide may be granted full registration at or before the expiry date, provided the Board is satisfied that the pesticide should be registered.
