Certificate of inspection

(1) Where an inspector or analyst makes an examination or analysis pursuant to section 17 of this Act, he may issue a certificate setting out the result of his examination or analysis as the case may be. (2) The certificate of an inspector or analyst stating that he has examined or analysed an article or sample for the purpose of this Act and stating the result of his examination or analysis, as the case may be, shall be admissible in evidence in a prosecution under this Act and shall be prima facie proof of the statements contained in the certificate, but the party against whom it is produced may require the attendance of the inspector or analyst issuing the certificate for the purpose of cross- examining him.
