Avian Influenza

Avian Influenza in its notifiable form is defined as an infection of poultry caused by an Influenza A virus of the H5 or H7 subtypes, or by any Avian Influenza virus with an intravenous pathogenicity index (IVPI) greater than 1.2, or with sequencing determining the amino acid motif at the cleavage site to be similar to that observed for Avian Influenza virus with an IVPI greater than 1.2.
