Animals to be slaughtered after withdrawal time

Where animals have been treated with or exposed to various drugs or pesticides, a sufficient period of time (the “withdrawal time”) shall be allowed before such animals are presented for slaughter or processing so that any biological residue may be eliminated or reduced to acceptable levels as prescribed by regulations and as listed in Codex Alimentarius Commission.
