Sufficiency of certificate at trial

In any trial for an offence under this Act, the certificate of the Managing Director purporting to be signed by him as such, shall be prima facie evidence as to the identification of any plant pest or plant disease under this Act, provided that such certificate shall contain– (a) a statement that the container in which the specimen was submitted for examination was sealed and intact on delivery to the Authority; and (b) a copy of the description attached to the specimen by the person who submitted it for identification by the Authority.
