Arrest and detention of foreign fishing vessels

(1) In cases of arrest or detention of a foreign fishing vessel for a contravention of this Act, the Fisheries Administrator shall promptly notify the flag State of the vessel, through appropriate channels, of the action taken and of any penalties subsequently imposed. (2) A foreign fishing vessel and its crew arrested for the contravention of any provision of this Act that governs any act of fishing or fishing related activity shall be promptly released upon the posting of a reasonable bond or other security.
