Percentage of inspections

(1) Each year, an inspection of not less than 5% of all discharges and transshipments shall be carried out with the exception of those discharges and transshipments whose products are intended for the EU market, in which case 100% of all discharges shall be inspected. (2) The following vessels shall be inspected in all cases– (a) vessels that have failed to provide complete information as required under regulation 46; (b) any request from other States or a particular RFMO that a particular vessel be inspected, particularly when such request is supported by evidence of IUU fishing by the vessel in question; and (c) where reasonable grounds exist for suspecting that a vessel has engaged in IUU fishing. 90
