Removal of parts from seized vessels, etc

(1) An authorised officer may remove any part or parts from any vessel, vehicle or aircraft held in custody under this Act, for the purpose of immobilising that vessel, vehicle or aircraft. (2) Any part or Darts removed under sub-section (1) shall be kept safely and returned to the vessel, vehicle or aircraft on its lawful release from custody. (3) A person (other than an authorised officer) shall not– (a) knowingly possess or arrange to obtain any part or parts removed under sub-section (1); or (b) knowingly possess or arrange to obtain any replacement or substitute part or parts for those removed under sub-section (1); or High Seas Fishing 47 (c) knowingly make any replacement or substitute part or parts for those removed under sub- section (1): or (d) fit or attempt to fit any part or parts, or replacement or substitute part or parts to a vessel, vehicle or aircraft being held in custody under this Act.
