Enforcement responsibility

(1) A Fisheries Monitoring Center under the Director shall have primary responsibility for 24 hour monitoring control and surveillance of the activities of Belize flagged high seas fishing vessels and the enforcement of this Act as it pertains to matters of the high seas. (2) The Director may, as appropriate, involve participation by relevant Government departments or offices in fisheries (3) The Director may authorize other entities, officials or persons to perform fisheries enforcement functions.
