Purpose of Part III

(1) The purpose of this Part is to ensureIII. (a) that toxic chemicals and their precursors arc only developed, produced, otherwise acquired, retained, transferred, or used for purposes not prohibited under the Convention; and (b) that the Minister has knowledge of dealings with chemicals that facilitate the making of Belize’s periodic declarations under the Convention; and (c) that Belize is otherwise able to fulfill its obligations under the Convention. (2) Any power under this Part may be exercised only for the purposes specified in sub-section (1).
