Computation of duration of leases

(1) Where the period of a lease is expressed as commencing on a particular day, that day is excluded in computing that period. (2) Where no day of commencement is named, the period commences on the day of execution of the lease, and that day is excluded in computing that period. (3) Where the period is a year or a number of years, in the absence of an express agreement to the contrary the lease shall last during the whole anniversary of the day on which such period commences.
