Cap. 174, s. 30 · Revised Edition 2020

(1) If anyone whose consent to a marriage is by this Act required, forbids the marriage and gives notice thereof before it is solemnised to the minister publishing the banns therefor, the publication of those banns shall be void unless the person so objecting afterwards withdraws his objection, whereupon the publication shall hold good. (2) Whenever three calendar months from the last publication of banns of matrimony expire before the marriage to which those banns relate has been solemnised, the publication of the banns shall be void. (3) If the publication of any banns is void under this section, the parties to whose intended marriage the publication of banns relates shall not be married pursuant to those banns, but banns may be published anew in the manner and form provided under banns.
