Interpretation

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires, “district” means a marriage district; “infant”, for the purpose of this Act, means a person under the age of eighteen years; “judge” means a justice of the Supreme Court; “marriage district” means a district declared by section 7 of this Act to be a marriage district; 8 “marriage officer” means a marriage officer appointed under “minister of religion” shall include all persons ordained or set apart to the ministry of any religion or duly authorised according to the usage of any religion; “registered building” means a building registered under this Act as one wherein banns of matrimony may be published.
