Service of documents

(1) All documents required to be served on the Crown for the purpose of or in connection with any civil proceedings by or against the Crown shall be served by delivering them to the head of the Government department in question, or if there is an attorney-at-law for that department acting for the purposes of this Act, to that attorney-at-law, or if the proceedings are brought by or against the Attorney General, on the Attorney General personally or by leaving the same for him with some adult person employed in his office after explaining the nature and purport thereof. (2) This section is subject to section 42 (5) of the Belize Constitution.
