Section 13

An imprest is a sum of money advanced to an officer to enable him to effect payments on behalf of government which cannot be conveniently effected through the Accountant General or his Sub-Treasury Finance Officers. The officer is required to keep a cash book recording full details of all payments made and to redeem all payments at regular intervals as required by Orders 502-515. Imprest Holders.
