Interpretation

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires, “Committee” means the Lotteries Committee established under this Act; “lottery” means any scheme for distributing prizes by lot or chance but does not include raffles where the value of the article raffled is not more than ten dollars; “quarter” means any period of three months commencing on the first day of January, April, July or October; 6 “ticket” includes, in relation to any lottery or proposed lottery, any document evidencing the claim of a person to participate in the chances of a lottery.
