Special leave

(1) Special leave on full salary may be granted by the Clerk for such purposes and for such periods as he may deem to be in the public interest, such as– (a) to enable Officers who belong to the Belize Defense Force to attend Training; (b) to enable Officers who are selected by the proper authorities to represent Belize in inter- National Assembly Staff 55 national sporting and cultural events and to attend training and to represent Belize as afore- said; (c) to enable Officers selected by recognized Unions or Associations to attend trade union training courses or conferences; and (d) to enable Officers in such other instances as may be considered reasonable by the Clerk to do such things which are considered to be in the public and national interests. (2) Appeals against the decision of the Clerk concerning refusal of special leave shall be made to the Committee.
