Authority to discipline Officers

(1) The authority for the discipline of Officers other than the Clerk and the Deputy Clerk is vested in the Committee; provided that where there is a law which provides the necessary means of dealing with disciplinary offences in the case of any members of the National Assembly Service, proceedings shall be taken under such law. In all other cases not regulated under any law, the Committee shall deal with cases of discipline at its discretion, provided that the provisions of this subregulation shall not apply to Officers appointed under section 5 of the Act. (2) The power to discipline persons appointed to the post of Office Assistant and to discipline Officers in respect of abuse of National Assembly vehicles is delegated to the Clerk.
