Mileage allowance

(1) An Officer who uses his private motor vehicle on approved official travel outside his station will be entitled to mileage allowance at the prescribed rate of one dollar and thirty cents ($1.30) per mile. (2) An Officer who uses his private motorcycle on approved official travel outside his station will be entitled to mileage allowance at the prescribed rate of fifty cents ($0.50) per mile. (3) Mileage allowance will not normally be approved in respect of travel to and from work. However, exceptional cases may, in certain circumstances where an Officer is compelled to live some distance away from his normal place of work, be given special consideration by the Ministry of Finance, upon application by the Officer concerned through the Committee.
