Interpretation

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires, “Association” means the Association of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technicians of Belize established under section 3; “Certificate of Registration” means a certificate issued pursuant to section 17 of this Act; “Constitution” means the Constitution of the Association prescribed in the Schedule to this Act; “Council” means the Council of the Association of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technicians of Belize established under section 5 of this Act; “licence” means a licence issued in accordance with section 17 of this Act; 6 “Minister” means the Minister for the time being responsible for the Environment; “practice” means the installation, repairs or servicing of refrigeration or air conditioning equipment; “Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician” means a person who is registered and licensed to practise in the refrigeration and air conditioning sector; “Register” means the Register required to be kept pursuant to section 11 of this Act.
