Reception interview

(1) At every prison the Superintendent shall, with the assistance of the Reception Board, if such a Board has been set up, interview every prisoner as soon as possible after his reception into prison and consider what arrangements are to be made for his work and training. (2) The Superintendent shall also classify the prisoner having regard to his age, character and previous history.
