Medical certificate and visits by Superintendent

(1) Cellular confinement, corporal punishment, or restriction of diet shall in no case be awarded unless the Medical Officer has certified that the prisoner is in a fit condition of health to sustain it. (2) Every prisoner undergoing cellular confinement or subjected to restricted diet No. 1 shall be visited at least once a day by the Superintendent and the Medical Officer, and if he is undergoing cellular confinement he shall be visited by an officer appointed for that purpose at intervals of not more than three hours during the day.
