Interpretation

For the purposes of this Part– (a) “Board” or “Parole Board” means the Board established under Rule 265 of these Rules; (b) “Director” means the Director of the Belize Central appointed by Kolbe Foundation; (c) “lesser offender” means an offender who is not a serious offender; (d) “offender” has the same meaning as prisoner; (e) “parole officer” means any of the officers referred to in rule 275 below; (f) “serious offender” means an offender who is convicted of an offence for which the penalty is– (a) (b) imprisonment for life; (c) deprivation of liberty for a period of two years or more, and includes an offence listed in the Sixth Schedule.
