Contracting of prison

(1) The Minister may enter into a contract with another person for the provision or running by the person, (or if the contract so provides) for the running by sub-contractor of the person, of any prison or part of a prison. (2) While a contract under this section for the running of a prison or part of a prison is in force, (a) the prison or part of the prison shall be run in accordance with this Act and any subsidiary legislation made under this Act; (b) in the case of a part of the prison, that part and the remaining part shall each be treated as if they were separate prisons.
