Eligibility for promotion

(1) A constable must normally have at least four years of service in the Department before he can be considered for promotion to the rank of corporal. (2) Any police officer may at any time, with the permission of the Commissioner, sit for the police qualifying examination for promotion to the next rank above the one he holds.
