Employment of police in time of emergency

(1) Subject to sub-section (2) of this section, the Governor- General may, in case of war or other emergency, employ the Department, or any part thereof, to serve with Her Majesty’s armed forces or otherwise, in the defence of Belize. (2) Any part of the Department so employed shall remain under the command of the Commissioner or such other police officer as the Commissioner may appoint for the purpose. (3) When called upon to serve with Her Majesty’s armed forces, the Department, or such part thereof as may be so employed, shall be subject to military law.
