Period of Engagement

(1) Officers referred to in paragraphs (a) and (b) of section 131 of the Act shall hold office until the determination of their commission. (2) Soldiers transferred to the reserve shall serve such period as would, when added to their years of service in the regular force, be equivalent to service for a term of twelve years. (3) Soldiers referred to in subregulation (2) above may, subject to the provisions of section 132 of the Act, volunteer to remain in the reserve on the completion of their reserve service, until they reach the age of 50 years.
