Payment of pension when pensioner becomes of unsound mind

(1) If any person to whom a pension has been awarded under these Regulations is or becomes of unsound mind the appropriate authority may direct that this pension or such part of it as appears necessary for his care and maintenance be paid to his wife, son, daughter or other person in whose care he may be or who may be responsible for the cost of his care and maintenance. (2) The receipt by the person or persons to whom the whole or part of the pension is so paid shall be sufficient voucher and discharge for so much of the amount as stated therein.
