Establishment of the Coast Guard

(1) There shall be and is hereby established in and for Belize a Coast Guard (hereinafter referred to as “the Coast Guard”) which shall be organized, trained and equipped for discharging the duties and functions specified in this Act. (2) The Coast Guard shall be governed by the provisions of this Act and any Regulations made there under. (3) The Minister may establish the Headquarters of the Coast Guard, and such other support units and individual operating units such as will enable the Coast Guard to fully and effectually perform the functions and discharge the duties imposed upon it by or under this Act.
