Penalty, unauthorised practitioner

(1) Every person who, not being a person appointed under this Act and sworn as a notary public in the manner provided by section 4 (3) of this Act, practises as a notary public, or does any notarial act is guilty of an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding two hundred and fifty dollars. (2) If the Supreme Court is satisfied that any notary public has permitted his name to be used for or on account of any person not being a notary public, on complaint thereof made in a summary way, then and in such case the said court shall order the notary public to be struck off from the roll of notaries public and he shall be for ever disabled from practising as a notary public, or doing any notarial act in Belize.
