Neglect of duty by coroner

Any coroner who refuses or neglects without reasonable excuse to hold any inquest or inquiry which it is his duty to hold, or to perform any duty which he is required to perform under the provisions of this Act is liable to a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars, recoverable before the Supreme Court in its criminal jurisdiction on the motion of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
