Abduction of a child

Every person who unlawfully removes or takes a person under the age of eighteen away from the lawful control, care, guardianship or responsibility of another, with intent to permanently or temporarily deprive the child of his freedom by the use of persuasion, deception or fraud, commits the offence of abduction of a child and shall be liable on conviction on indictment to a term of imprisonment for a term of ten years.
