Falsification defined

A person “falsifies” a current coin of any metal, coinage, denomination, date or country if he removes or adds thereto any such part thereof, or if by any means he so alters it, whether permanently or temporarily, and whether in substance or 139 appearance, as that it may pass for a current coin of a different metal, coinage, denomination, date or country.
