Official bondsmen

(1) Notwithstanding any rule of law to the contrary, it shall be lawful for a person who has been offered bail, or ordered to find bail, to obtain a bail bond for the requisite amount from an official bondsman, and every such bond shall be accepted in all courts in lieu of any sureties approved by the court. (2) The term “official bondsman” referred to in subsection (1) of this section means a bondsman approved by the Supreme Court.
